Ingredients


For Sweet Potato Tikki
1 1/2 cups boiled and mashed sweet potatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp chaat masala
2 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
salt to taste
oil for deep-frying
1/2 tsp chaat masala for sprinkling

For Serving With Sweet Potato Tikki
green chutney
tomato ketchup

Method

For sweet potato tikki

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}sweet potato tikki{/span}, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mix very well with your hands.
  2. Divide the mixture into 15 equal portions and shape each portion into a round 50 mm. (2”) diameter flat tikki.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, and deep-fry a few tikkis at a time, on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  4. Sprinkle the chaat masala evenly over the tikkis.
  5. Serve the {span class="bold1"}sweet potato tikki{/span} immediately with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
